Spotlight: Molly Brazy’s “Molly’s Story” is an unflinching trip into her psyche #Detroit

For those of you who haven’t heard Molly Brazy rap, you’re in for a surprise. As innocent as she looks, she’s one of the best rappers out here. Her voice may be soft, but she can spit bar after bar with some of the biggest names in the game. It’s only a matter of time until she gets the spotlight that she deserves, and with releases like “Molly’s Story” coming out, it looks like her time will get here sooner or later.  Over a delicate beat where she proceeds to go in, Molly gives us some of the best bars we’ve seen to date from her.

“Molly’s Story” is raw, yet there’s a juvenile quality to it. Maybe it’s Molly’s soft voice that makes it sound like Frozen meets Meek Mill. She spits raps about coming up while also giving game to listeners. “How you wait for the sun when you ain’t been through the rain?” she raps at one point, sounding almost angry. She’s eager to tell her story while helping listeners get through theirs, and it shows. Over the course of three minutes, she replicates this type of impact with countless raps that punch through casual listening ears.

The production itself evokes the style of Meek Mill’s famous Intro track from Dreams and Nightmares. It changes multiple times, starting first at only a minute in where Molly speeds up her raps to match the new pace. About thirty seconds later, the drums come in, adding a whole new melody to the song.

It’s only been out a short time and it’s already become one of our favorite tracks at the moment. Check it out below.
