    Who Is Rocky B? #Detroit

It’s commonly said that children take after their parents, combining the best characteristics of both worlds to craft into their own personality. If both parents have a fascination with words, what will their offspring do with them? Rocky B also known as Rocky Badd, a rising rapper out of Detroit, is the answer to this question. She’s a fierce soul with a devilish grin whose poised to blow any day now. Don’t be lulled into a false sense of appeasement because of her bright smile and youthful exuberance; she throws down on the microphone with reckless abandon.

Rocky was born on May 12, 1990 in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents were both extremely familiar with words; her father was an important rapper in the city’s local scene and his mother frequently wrote poetry about her lifestyle and surroundings. Because of this, Rocky knew that she wanted to work in music from a very young age. She wrote her first rap song in the sixth grade when she realized that the art form was her calling. Just recently, in 2016, she uploaded her first song to Soundcloud. Prior to that, much of her music existed on YouTube (and can also still be found there). Since then, she’s been on a roll, releasing music along with accompanying videos that have racked up tens of thousands of views. Combining that with the 129,000 followers she has on Instagram shows that there is some serious interest and star power surrounding Rocky.

Rocky’s rap style is solid and straightforward, emulating a more traditional sound that’s uncommon in today’s rap atmosphere. It works, perfectly. Her ability to keep her delivery on point is what separates her from the scores of other artists who would kill to be in her place. It makes listening to her easy as well. She’s named Erykah Badu and Lauren Hill as two of her influences.

As she continues to become a larger influence in the world, Rocky B will capture the minds of many who look for the traditional sound that the game lacks. Check out her music today.
